Saharawi Ministry of Health organises a conference to arise awareness
against AIDS in Smara

Ministry of Public Health organised Wednesday in the Wilaya of Smara a
conference to arise awareness against AIDS in Smara, on the occasion of
the international day of the struggle against AIDS, under the
chairmanship of the Minister for Health, Bellahi Sid, and with the
presence of the Wali of Smara, Bouchraya Beyoun, and of Saharawi
officials.
In his speech, in which he gave an idea about the efforts deployed by
African and International bodies in the struggle and prevention against
AIDS, Mr. Sid
exposed the dangers of this phenomenon, calling "the
youth to be vigilant and to remain attached to our Islamic religion,
our traditions and culture, which exclude any sexual contact out of
marriage", he added.
This conference was also animated by Saharawi and foreign specialists,
who underlined the seriousness of this phenomenon on the individual and
on the society, as well as the importance of the prevention as the best
way to struggle against AIDS.
Besides the Saharawi medical corps who attended the event, some
international organisations and bodies participated to this day, in
particular the UN High Commission for Refugees (HCR), Algerian Red
Crescent (CRA), Spanish Red Cross and Saharawi NGOs such as The Women
National Union and Saharawi National Union of the Youth (UJSARIO). (SPS)

commitment of all Andalusian towards Saharawi people struggle"

Andalusian authorities and civil society reaffirmed Wednesday "the
staunch commitment of all Andalusians towards Saharawi people
struggle", has underlined the President of the Association of Saharawi
People Friends during a dinner offered by Andalusian civil society on
the honour of the President of the Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz.
Intervening on behalf of the Andalusian movement of solidarity with the
Saharawi people before of more than 400 guests, composed of elected
representatives of Seville, Almeria, Grenada, Cordoba, Jaen, Huelva,
Cadiz and Malaga, representatives of associations and organisations,
journalists, businessmen and other figures of the society, Mr. Paco
Guerrero "thanked President Abdelaziz for his visit, reaffirming the
staunch commitment of all Andalusians towards Saharawi people struggle
to recover their rights to independence and freedom", indicated a
source from the Saharawi Presidential delegation.
Mr. Guerrero numerated then, the fields in which the Andalusian
associations provide their assistance and solidarity, since years, to
the Saharawi people, reiterating that "the cooperation with SADR will
continue without failure in all fields and wherever need is", added the
same source.
In his visit to Malaga, within the framework of visits that led him to
many autonomous Spanish regions, Mr. President was also invited b y
Andalusian authorities to give a speech in the opening session of the
"Forum of local authorities of Porto Aligre", which takes place
December the 1, 2 and 3 in the Palace of Conferences in Malaga.
After having expressed his "gratitude to the Andalusian people for
their support to the Saharawi people legitimate struggle", President
Abdelaziz spoke about the current situation in Western Sahara and the
perspectives of the solution to the conflict, as well as the efforts
deployed by the Saharawi Government within the framework of "the
edification of a Saharawi State based on democracy, freedom, tolerance
and human rights", which would be able to take up the challenges and
the aspirations of the Saharawi people to independence, he underlined.
Mr. Abdelaziz deplored, however, the irresponsible attitude of the
Moroccan Government, which closed all the paths that could lead to a
fair and peaceful resolution to the conflict "in complete defiance to
international legality and international community will" and this by
"firmly and openly opposing any solution that would not guarantee its
illegal occupation to Western Sahara", underlined the President.
The Head of the State had also emphasised "the tremendous role" local
authorities, worldwide, could play to help resolving political,
economical and social problems humanity is living for decades so far.
"Local authorities, in their attempts to build a better world, must
absolutely struggle so as to consecrate the principles of freedom,
self-determination and free expression, and to embody it on the field
by contributing to the solution of cases similar to Western Sahara's",
said Mr. Abdelaziz.
"The establishment of justice in Western Sahara on the basis of the
international legality and self-determination is possible and feasible,
as it is possible to build a better future", for the coming
generations, if the international community finally decides to impose
the respect of the Law and to prevail the principles of the UN Charter,
added the Head of the State.
On another hand, Mr. Abdelaziz met with the President of the Province,
Mr. Salvador Pendón, and the Mayor of the City of Malaga, Mr.
Francisco de la Torre, who "reiterated their support to the national
rights of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence",
