Pretoria, 01/12/2006, (SPS) The President of the COSATU (Congress Of South African Trade Union), expressed "the full support of his organisation to the Saharawi workers and their people in their struggle against the Moroccan colonialism", declared the vice-president of the organisation, Willy Madisha, reports a communiqué by the Saharawi Embassy in Pretoria.

Mr. Madisha, who was receiving the Saharawi human rights activist, Ali Salem Tamek, on Wednesday in the seat of the biggest South African trade union, demonstrated its "full support to the Saharawi workers under Moroccan foreign occupation", the same source added.

"Shocked" by the similarities between "the sinister regime of Apartheid and the Moroccan colonialism", as described by Mr. Tamek, the South Africa trade unionist promised to "defend the Saharawi workers and people", adding that COSATU will start a campaign in South Africa to "raise the national public opinion about this tragic and unacceptable situation imposed by Morocco on Saharawis", it was added.
