El Aaiun: Moroccan police violently disperse peaceful demonstration

El Aaiun (occupied territories), June 23, 2013 (SPS) - Moroccan occupation police and security forces violently dispersed Saturday a peaceful demonstration calling for the independence of Western Sahara in the occupied city of El Aaiun, capital of Western Sahara, according to some media sources.


Hundreds of demonstrators poured into the street of Smara in occupied city of El Aaiun in a response to an appeal made by the coordination of Saharawi human rights organizations.


The participants at the demonstration raised slogans denouncing the grave human rights violations committed by Moroccan Kingdom, and calling for self-determination and independence.


Some demonstrators including the Saharawi activists Sidi Mohamed Dadech, Bachri Ben Taleb, Lehsen Dlil, Mbarek Dawdi, Mhamdi Deida, Bachraya Abbahi, Abdelslam Lomadi, Ali Saduni, Yasin Abdelhadi, Mbarka Dahan, Hamza Al-Ansari and Abdellahi Dahan were beaten. (SPS)
