Moroccan forces suppress peaceful sit-in in Smara

Smara (occupied territories), October 22, 2016 (SPS) - The Moroccan forces of repression intervened brutally against a peaceful sit-in organized Friday by unemployed Saharawi graduates in the occupied city of Smara.

During the sit-in, unemployed Saharawi graduates chanted slogans denouncing the illegal plunder of natural resources of Western Sahara by Morocco and demanding their rights to work and enjoying the natural wealth of their country.

Sahrawi political prisoners of Gdeim Izik exposed to reprehension

Rabat (Morocco), October 3, 2016 (SPS) - The prison management of Alargat in the Moroccan city of Salé has molested and beat the Sahrawi political prisoners of Gdeim Izik, using a special military contingent belongs to what is called the General Directorate of Prisons.

Gdeim Izik prisoners wage warning hunger strike

Rabat (Morocco) September 10, 2016 (SPS) - Sahrawi political prisoners, Gdeim Izik group, started Friday a warning hunger strike at the local prison of Alargat for 48 hours, according to Sahrawi human rights source.

This strike comes to denounce the harassment they have suffered since their deportation, on 31 August, from the local prison of Salé 1 to the local prison of Alargat in the outskirts of Salé, near the Moroccan capital Rabat.

CONASADH expresses concern about situation of Gdeim Izik prisoners

Shaheed El Hafed, September 4, 2016 (SPS) Saharawi National Committee of Human Rights (CONASADH) on Saturday expressed deep concern about the current situation of political prisoners of Gdeim Izik group in the Moroccan prison of El Arjet, in a statement.

CONASADH appealed to all international organizations of human rights to exert pressure on the Moroccan occupier to immediately release all political prisoners and Saharawi activists wholanguish in Moroccan prisons.

Transfer of Sahrawi political prisoner M’Barek Daoudi to individual cell in Bouzakarne prison

Sahrawi human rights activist initiates hunger strike at Moroccan prison of Oudaya

 Marrakech (Morocco), August 27, 2016 (SPS) Saharawi political prisoner and activist of human rights, Abdelmula Al Hafed, on Friday began a 48-hour hunger strike to protest against inhuman treatment at  Moroccan prison of Oudaya, Marrakech.

The Moroccan prison authorities had denied repeatedly the Saharawi activist of human rights medical treatment and basic necessities, which worsened his condition.

Sahrawi citizen killed by Moroccan settler in occupied Dakhla

Dakhla (occupied territories), August 13, 2016 (SPS) Saharawi citizen, Mohamed Fadel Ould Hnane, aged 27, was killed by a Moroccan settler in the occupied city of Dakhla.

The Saharawi citizen was brutally stabbed after having been splashed with a corrosive acid by the Moroccan settler.
