Algiers, 17 January 2022 (SPS) - Sahrawi ambassador to Algiers, Abdelkader Taleb Omar said Saturday he was "optimistic" about the visit of Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Western Sahara, Staffan de Mistura to the region, wishing that the peace process would succeed in the last colony in Africa.
"certainly, we are optimistic about the results of the visit of the UN Personal Envoy," said the Sahrawi diplomat at the memory forum organized by "Mechaal Echahid" association.
The Moroccan regime has violated the ceasefire agreements, causing a return to war and tension, added Taleb Omar, hoping that de Mistura "will find a solution to relaunch the peace process."
The Sahrawi ambassador said, in this regard, that "the Sahrawi people are aware of these maneuvers and are ready to sacrifice to recover their sovereignty and achieve justice, peace and stop the expansion" of the Moroccan occupier.
