Two biggest political parties in Timor-Leste reaffirm support for struggle of Saharawi people

Dili (Timor-Leste), January 13th, 2022 (SPS) - The Presidents of the Parliamentary groups of the two biggest political parties in the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste’s Parliament; the Revolutionary Front for an Independent East Timor (FRETILIN) and the National Congress for Timorese Reconstruction (CNTR) reaffirmed today their parties’ commitments, solidarity and support for the struggle of Saharawi people for national liberation and full sovereignty over the Saharawi Republic during separate meetings with the Saharawi Republic Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Mr. Abba Malainin.
During the meetings, with Mr. David Dias Ximenes, President of the Parliamentary Group the Revolutionary Front for an Independent East Timor (FRETILIN) and Mr. Duate Nunes, President of the Parliamentary Group of the National Congress for Timorese Reconstruction (CNTR) Ambassador Malainin, expressed appreciation for the principled historical support and solidarity stand of Timor-Leste and both political parties(FRETILIN) and (CNTR) support for defending the just cause of the Saharawi People which is very similar to the case of Timor-Leste. The Saharawi Diplomat briefed his interlocutors about the latest developments in Western Sahara on the different fronts.

It is worth noting that the meetings also attended by members of the parliament from the two political parties.
