Saharawi Embassy attends BFTU’s 15th Elective Congress in Palapye as guest of honor

Palapye (Botswana) 26 October 2021 (SPS)– The Deputy Ambassador of the Saharawi Republuc in Botswana, Mr. Mohamed Emboric Samba, participated to BFTU’s 15th Elective Congress held last Friday in Palapye, Botswana, representing the Saharawi Embassy and Saharawi Umbrella Trade Union, UGTSARIO.
The event that was officially opened by the President of the Republic of Botswana, H.E. Mokgweetsi E.K. Masisi, was attended by delegates participating to the Congress, but also guests of honour representing different organisations in Botswana and abroad, and the Minister of Employment, Labour Productivity and Skills Development, Honourable Mpho Balopi.
Given the floor on behalf of the Saharawi Ambassador to Botswana, H.E. Mr. Malainin Lakhal, the Deputy Ambassador conveyed Saharawi Ambassador’s warm greetings and wishes to the congress for success and fruitful outcomes. The Deputy further informed the audience that he is also representing the Saharawi Umbrella Trade Union, UGTSARIO, which has sent a special message of solidarity to the Congress.
In his introductory statement before giving the floor to the Saharawi Deputy Ambassador, BFTU’s Secretary General, Mr. Thusang Buthale, informed his colleagues that BFTU has just signed a Memorandum of Understanding with UGTSARIO, which aims at deepening the bilateral relations between the two formations regionally and internationally.
