Bir Lahlou, July, 29 2021 (SPS) - Sahrawi President Brahim Gali called, Wednesday, on UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres and members of the Security Council to address the "alarming" situation in the occupied Sahrawi territories, saying that the inaction of the United Nations and their silence has allowed the Moroccan occupier to continue its barbaric practices.
"In our last messages (...) which were issued as documents of the Security Council on February 19, 2021 and May 17, 2021, we drew your attention and that of the members of the Security Council to the catastrophic situation in the territories of Western Sahara under the illegal Moroccan occupation," the Sahrawi president recalled at the outset in a letter addressed to the UN SG, reviewed Thursday by APS.
In this regard, President Gali drew the attention of the UN SG to "the terror and reprisals of the war that the occupying state of Morocco is waging against Sahrawi civilians, human rights defenders, journalists and bloggers who are daily victims of unspeakable cruelty and barbaric and inhumane practices," since last November 13.SPS
