War in Western Sahara: Moroccan army in face of logistical difficulties

Submitted on

Rabat, 4 January 2021 (SPS) - Researcher, journalist and former agent of the Moroccan intelligence services Farid Boukas spoke on his Facebook page of a lack of confidence and serenity within the command of the Moroccan army after the outbreak of the 2nd war in Western Sahara.
Boukas used the “N24” web channel to report the recruitment of 600 agents in charge of conducting campaigns on social networks vis-à-vis the Sahrawi cause inside and outside Morocco.
The Moroccan army has transferred several soldiers injured in military confrontations with the Sahrawi army to the hospitals of occupied Dakhla and Smara “with the utmost discretion about their state of health,” said Boukas quoting “reliable sources.”
I received information from a foreign diplomatic source about logistical and organization-related difficulties faced by King Mohamed VI, he continued.
Boukas also referred to several cases of desertion and disobedience in the barracks of the occupied territories, even in Morocco,” particularly after “several officers were bugged.”
The Moroccan army lacks soldiers, clothes, supplies, weapons and ammunition, said Boukas. (SPS)
