Alicante Provincial Council highlights solidarity with the Saharawi people

Alicante (Valencia), Feb 12, 2020 (SPS) - The Provincial Council of Alicante has expressed its solidarity and collaboration with the Saharawi people, making special mention of the “work of Dar al Karama in the care of sick children in the Sahrawi Refugee Camps.
In the meeting held with the deputy Juan de Dios Navarro, the representatives of the Association of Friends with the Saharawi People, Luis García and Teresa Rubira, and the Saharawi delegate for the region, Lehbib Alisalem, addressed the work being carried out and the possibility to promote new cooperation projects.
The Dar al Karama Association noted the importance of continuing to pay attention to health care for Sahrawi children from refugee camps, in addition to strengthening support for the “Peace Vacation Program ” to expand the number of children.
For his part, the Saharawi delegate presented the situation in the Saharawi refugee camps, the political process led by the UN and the stalemate in the search for a definitive solution to the decolonization process.
For Juan de Dios Navarro, also Councilor of the City Council of Elche, the support of the Provincial Council of Alicante to humanitarian projects will be maintained and new ways to continue increasing this collaboration will be studied.SPS
