President of Republic takes part at state funeral of former Kenyan President Daniel Arap Moi

Nairobi (Kenya), Febr 12, 2020 (SPS) - The president of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Brahim Gali, has attended the state funeral honors of the former Kenyan President Daniel Arap Moi conveying  to the people and Government of Kenya the maximum condolences of the Saharawi people and Government.
The state funeral of former President Daniel Arap Moi, who died last February 4, was held Tuesday at Nyayo Stadium, in a mass event attended by African heads of state and high-ranking personalities of the continent.
During his speech before heads of state, personalities and thousands of Kenyans at Nyayo Stadium, the Saharawi president has described Daniel Arap Moi as one of the “best children of the African continent for his defense of freedom, dignity, security and development". “All the African people share your sadness. Our condolence to the family of the former president, the great Kenyan family and the most excellent president Uhuru Kenyatta, ”added the Saharawi president.
Accompanied by the Kenyan president, Uhuru Kenyatta,   heads of state of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Djibouti, South Sudan, Uganda and Ethiopia. Important international delegations and special envoys have also been present.
Daniel Arap Moi assumed the presidency of Kenya in 1978 after the death of the country's leader and founder Jomo Kenyatta. In 2002 he said goodbye to power and ending a long career leading the country.
The remains of the second president of the African country will be transferred tomorrow Wednesday to Kabarak, his native region, where he will be buried.
