Boumerdes (Algeria), 31 July 2019 (SPS) – the Algerian professor and lecturer Mr. Makhloufi Sahel asserted on Wednesday that the continuation of Morocco's occupation of the territory of the Sahrawi Republic threatens peace and security and impairs regional integration of the Maghreb.
In a lecture given to the POLISARIO and the Saharawi State cadres during the Summer University's under the title "The security situation in the Maghreb and the Sahel and its repercussions on the Sahrawi issue", he said that Morocco's continued occupation of the territory of the Sahrawi Republic threatens peace and security and Maghreb Regional Integration.
The lecturer gave a strategic reading on the security challenges known, highlighting that what is happening in the Maghreb region is reflected in the Sahel region, pointing to a number of challenges that the region defines as terrorist groups and the growing organized crime.
We cannot reach the Maghreb regional integration without resolving the Sahrawi issue as the cornerstone of the region, confirms Professor Makhloufi
He reiterated that the role played by the Frente POLISARIO and the Saharawi State in combating terrorism and organized crime makes it a regional player in the region and contributes to the establishment of peace and security in the region SPS
