President of Republic at AU Summit: "united, harmonious and integrated Africa is a possible dream"

Niamey, July 8, 2019 (SPS) - President the Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Brahim Ghali, has affirmed in Niamey that "a united, harmonious, prosperous and integrated Africa is a possible dream", stressing that this requires "the respect of the principles and requirements of the Constitutive Act of the African Union (AU) ".

In a speech Sunday to AU Heads of State and Government and delegations attending the 12th AU Extraordinary Summit on the free trade zone of the African continent, the Saharawi President stressed that "a united, harmonious, prosperous and integrated Africa is a possible dream".

President Ghali added in his speech at the opening of the AU summit that the realization of this dream requires African countries to act with "determination to guarantee all the necessary conditions for peace, security, stability and good neighborliness among countries, in full respect of the principles and requirements of the Constitutive Act of the African Union ".

He also indicated that "the implementation of the practical phase of the African internal market is conclusive evidence of the political will of African leaders and countries to enter the early stages of implementation".

"It is a transcendental fact for which the Saharawi Republic is proud to be among the members who have ratified the free trade agreement. The Sahrawi Republic has the sincere will to contribute actively to the achievement of all the conditions for the success of this agreement, especially in the context of the implementation of Agenda 2063," confirmed President Ghali.

President the Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Brahim Ghali, arrived Saturday in Niamey to take part in the 12th AU summit. He held talks with AU Heads of State and Government, the African Union Commission and the decision-making organs of the Continental Organization during which discussions were focused on the progress of the Saharawi cause at regional and international levels.
