New York, April 30, 2019 (SPS) - The Frente POLISARIO on Tuesday regretted UN Security Council's failure to condemn Morocco's "destabilizing actions," which may "undermine the already fragile political process."
In response to the six-month extension of MINURSO mandate, the Frente POLISARIO said "Security Council's failure to condemn Rabat's destabilizing actions is only encouraging the occupying force of Morocco to persist in its intransigence and undermine the already fragile political process."
"We have already seen the negative effects of Security Council's silence."
"Over the few past months, Morocco has intensified the pace and scale of cease-fire violations and savagely suppressed the Saharawi population living in the occupied territories," the Polisario Front said in a statement in New York.
"Morocco is making everything to disrupt and derail UN-sponsored peace process."
The statement added that Rabat "refuses to take confidence-building measures showing a will to advance in the political process. SPS
