Bir Lahlou (Liberated Territories), April 15, 2019 (SPS) - The Sahrawi National Committee for Human Rights (CONASADH) condemned Sunday the arbitrary detention of Sahrawi political activist Ali Salem Buyemaa Saaduni by the Moroccan forces, calling for his immediate and unconditional release.
In a communiqué published Sunday, CONASADH demanded “the cessation of reprisals and suppression against the Sahrawi citizens in the occupied areas of Western Sahara.”
In this respect, it also demanded “the immediate and unconditional release of all the Sahrawi political prisoners and activists, to quash all the trials, unveil the fate of all the missing Sahrawi people and to open the occupied territory of the Sahrawi Republic to media and international observers so that they can check the human rights situation in these occupied territories, constantly violated by the Moroccan occupier.”
CONASADH said to be “deeply concerned about the worrying health condition of several Sahrawi political prisoners of Gdeim Izik group, because of the repercussion of hunger strikes to protest against ill-treatments and abominable practices contrary to the law and international conventions.”
The Sahrawi non-governmental organization expressed its support and solidarity with all the Sahrawi political prisoners in hunger strike and their families. (SPS)
