Political prisoner and Saharawi journalist, Salah Lebsir, transferred to Bouzakarn prison

Aaiún occupied, Dec 19, 2018 (SPS) - The political activist and journalist, Salah Eddine Lebsir, was transferred, on Tuesday, from the Tata prison to the Bouzakarn prison.
Salah Lebsir was arrested on June 6, 2015 after participating in peaceful demonstrations in the city of Smara, demanding the right to self-determination of the Saharawi people, he was sentenced to four years ending his sentence in June 2019.
During the period of imprisonment, he carried out several hunger strikes, demanding more humane treatment and respect for his basic rights.
The journalist was transferred from Tata prison, which is 719 km from El Aaiún (capital of Western Sahara), to Bouzakarn, 479 km away. SPS
