African Union Commission President begins a visit to the Saharawi Republic

Chahid El Hafed, June 19,2018 (SPS) - The President of the Commission of the African Union (AU), Mr. Moussa Faki, arrived this afternoon at the administrative center of the Saharawi Republic, Chahid El Hafed in a view of two days visit.
Upon his arrival at the Tindouf airport, he was received by the Deputy Minister in charge of African Affairs, Hamdi Jalil Mayara, the National Protocol Director, Mohamed Chej Mohammed Lehbib and the Permanent Representative of the SADR to the African Union, Lamin Baali.
The African leader will hold bilateral talks with several leaders of the Frente POLISARIO and the SADR and with representatives of civil society, as well as and will visit several national institutions and will be given an official welcome in the wilaya of Auserd.
According to the agenda of the visit, the President of the Commission of the African Union, will also meet with the President of the Saharawi Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Mr. Brahim Gali.
The aim of the visit is to consult with the Sahrawi authorities on questions of common interest such as the implementation of the decisions of the last African Union summit on the question of Western Sahara, before the next AU summit in Nouakchott, that will address the issue of Western Sahara in light of the report that will be presented by the President of the AU Commission.
