Submitted on

Shaheed El-Hafed (Refugee Camps), January 6, 2018 (SPS) - The Polisario Front affirmed that the current tension in El Gargarat is due to the flagrant violation by Morocco of the ceasefire agreement and the Military Agreement No. 1.
In a statement Saturday, the Polisario Front stressed that the ceasefire agreement is not separate from the political process and cannot be a means to protect the expansionist interests of Morocco. Therefore, the Polisario Front urges that the necessary measures be taken in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2351 to resolve the problems caused by the Moroccan Violation in El Gargarat region, added the statement.
The statement also reiterated the willingness of the Polisario Front to cooperate sincerely with the Secretary General and his Personal Envoy to reach a just and peaceful solution based on respect for the inalienable right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence as well as the full commitment of the requirements of the ceasefire agreement.
