Morocco fails in its attempt to thwart TICAD joint meeting in Maputo

Submitted on

Maputo (Mozambique), August 25, 2017 (SPS) - Morocco has failed in its attempt to thwart the joint ministerial meeting between Japan and Africa (6th ministerial meeting of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development) held in the Mozambican capital Maputo between 23 and 25 June. October 2017, its failed attempt has pushed him to try to physically assault the Saharawi delegation and the host country.
The event was attended by European countries, China, Russia, the diplomatic corps, regional economic groups, the international press, private Japanese companies, the African private sector, civil society and international development experts.
It should be noted that Morocco has entered a new dynamic characterized by a direct and provocative confrontation with the organs and institutions of the African Union, its organs and Member States, as well as with its partners and other international institutions.
This happens only eight months after Morocco's accession to the African Union in January 2017. Morocco with this accession seeks to change the decisions of the African Union related to the Saharawi issue and to prepare the ground to expel the Saharawi Republic from the UA. SPS
