Submitted on

Chahid El Hafed, 18 Apr 2017 (SPS) - The Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat of Frente  POLISARIO condemned the repressive and barbaric practices perpetrated by the State of Moroccan occupation against Saharawi defenseless civilians who were demonstrating peacefully in the occupied cities of the Western  Sahara to claim the right of their people to freedom and independence.

In a statement issued after their meeting held on Sunday under the chairmanship of SG POLISARIO, President of the Republic Brahim Gali, the Permanent Bureau of the SN insisted on the need for the UN to assume full responsibility for the protection of Sahrawi citizens against the Moroccan oppression and brutality of the occupation forces.

He also called for lifting the state of siege imposed on the occupied territories of Western Sahara, stopping the plundering of Saharawi natural resources and releasing the prisoners of Gdeim Izik Group and all the Saharawi political prisoners who are still languishing in the Moroccan prisons.

Permanent Bureau said in this regard that the State of Moroccan occupation continues to hamper the efforts of the decolonization of the last colony in Africa, condemning the Moroccan provocative escalation and its contempt of international law. SPS
