Algerian minister of foreign affairs affirms that UN responsibility continues present in the decolonization of the Western Sahara

Geneva, Switzerland, March 02, 2017 (SPS) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Ramtane Lamamra, stated during his speech at the 34th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva that The decolonization of Western Sahara remains the responsibility of the United Nations.
 
The Algerian minister stressed that the responsibility of the UN in the decolonization of Western Sahara requires it to pay more attention to the human rights situation in the territory.
 
In the same context, Mr Ramamane Lamamra pointed out that the people of Western Sahara, the last colony in Africa, continues to be victims of Moroccan occupation and deprived of their legitimate rights to self-determination and independence. SPS
