Mauritanian caravan for support of Saharawi people arrives in Sahrawi refugee camps

Shaheed El-Hafed, Jan 8, 2017 (SPS) - A Mauritanian caravan for the support of the Saharawi people in their struggle for freedom and independence has arrived in the Sahrawi refugee camps.
The purpose of the caravan, organized by a group of Mauritanian intellectuals and journalists, is to find out about the situation of the Saharawi people and their just struggle for liberation and independence and to visit SADR institutions.
The members of the caravan were received by the Governor of the wilaya of El Aaiún, in the Sahrawi refugee camps, Mohamed Yeslm Beisat and members of the popular Council of the wilaya and visited some regional institutions.
During the meeting, Mr. Beisat informed his interlocutors on the latest developments related to the Saharawi issue at the national and international levels.
He recalled the strong historical, ideological and cultural bonds existing between the two Saharawi and Mauritanian brotherly peoples, affirming that the visit of this caravan comes at a crucial moment in the history of the Saharawi people who is in a position of strength and approaching victory.
The members of the caravan were also received by the Minister of Information, Hamada Salma, and the Minister of Occupied Territories and the Saharawi Community Abroad, Mohamed El-Ouali Akik , and visited the National Museum of Resistance, The Association of Families of Saharawi Prisoners and Disappeared, and the Union of Saharawi Women.
