Frente POLISARIO deplores Security Council's failure to condemn Morocco

New York, April 30, 2019 (SPS) - The Frente POLISARIO on Tuesday regretted UN Security Council's failure to condemn Morocco's "destabilizing actions," which may "undermine the already fragile political process."
In response to the six-month extension of MINURSO mandate, the Frente POLISARIO said "Security Council's failure to condemn Rabat's destabilizing actions is only encouraging the occupying force of Morocco to persist in its intransigence and undermine the already fragile political process."

New York, April 30, 2019 (SPS) - The Security Council extended by six months, until 31 October 2019, the mandate of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), reiterating the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination.

Moroccan occupation court issues an unjust sentence against Sahrawi activist Ali Salem Buyemaa

Occupied Aaiun, April 30, 2019 (SPS) - The Moroccan occupation court of first instance has handed down an unfair ruling against the Sahrawi political activist Ali Salem Buyemaa El Saaduni to 07 months in prison and a fine of 5000 dirhams.
The session which took place yesterday amid strong Moroccan authority’s forces has seen the prevention of Saharwi activates to attend the trial session.

Frente POLISARIO demands annulment of the Morocco-EU agreement

Bir Lehlu (SADR Liberated Territories), April 30, 2019 (SPS) - The Frente POLISARIO has decided to resort to the European justice system to lodge an appeal for the annulment of the EU / Morocco agreement covering the coasts and soil of the Occupied Western Sahara.
In a press release released after the POLISARIO announcement of the appeal to the European Court of Justice, the member of the Frente POLISARIO ´s National Secretariat, Mr. M'Hamed Jad-dad said that this decision reflects the POLISARIO's confidence in the European justice.

MINURSO: Security Council postpones vote on resolution until Tuesday

New York, April 28, 2019 (SPS) -The Security Council has postponed the vote on the resolution extending MINURSO mandate to be able to review the reservations made by some members on the text presented by the United States.
The adoption of this resolution extending, by six months, the mandate of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara was initially scheduled for Monday.
Some members of the Security Council said that the first draft was written in a confusing making the text unbalanced, the source told APS.

President Brahim Ghali demands cessation of Morocco’s escalating violations of ceasefire (Full text letter)

Bir-Lahlou, April 27, 2019 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the POLISARIO Front, Brahim Ghali, has addressed a letter to H. E. Mr Christoph Heusgen, Permanent Representative of Germany to the United Nations, President of the Security Council, to draw the attention of the UN Security Council to Morocco’s escalating violations of the ceasefire and the urgent need for the Security Council to move swiftly to condemn such actions.

France, April  24, 2019 (SPS) - the University of Picardy Jules-Verne , French is expected to hold next May 27  an international Conference on Western Sahara under the title : "Western Sahara - Developments of an old question"  with the participation of internationally prominent  scholars, specialists in law, international relations, history, politics and anthropology, APS news agency reported Tuesday.

Prime Minister begins government tour including all ministries

Shaheed Alhafed, April 20, 2019 (SPS) - Prime Minister, Mohamed Alwali Akeik, has started a government tour involving all ministries of the Sahrawi government to assess the work of ministries and follow up on the implementation of the government programs for 2019.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by the Minister of Vocational Training, Personnel and Public Service, the Secretary General of the Government, the National Director of Monitoring and Inspection, the National Director of hydrocarbons, as well as officials from Government headquarters.  (SPS)

CONASADH firmly condemns arbitrary detention of Sahrawi activist by Moroccan forces

Bir Lahlou (Liberated Territories), April 15, 2019 (SPS) - The Sahrawi National Committee for Human Rights (CONASADH) condemned Sunday the arbitrary detention of Sahrawi political activist Ali Salem Buyemaa Saaduni by the Moroccan forces, calling for his immediate and unconditional release.
In a communiqué published Sunday, CONASADH demanded “the cessation of reprisals and suppression against the Sahrawi citizens in the occupied areas of Western Sahara.”

POLISARIO Front calls on Security Council to prevent Moroccan violations of ceasefire

EU-Morocco Fisheries Agreement: Polisario Front to file complaint before CJEU

Moscow, April 14, 2019 (SPS) - Sahrawi Coordinator with the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) M’hamed Kheddad said that a complaint against the EU-Morocco Fisheries Agreement will soon be filed before the European Court of Justice (CJEU), noting that a "very solid" case was prepared to reject the agreement in question.
