President of Republic offers condolences on death of former President of Federal Republic of Nigeria

Bir-Lehlu, December 31, 2018 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, has sent a condolence message to his Nigerian counterpart, H.E. Mohammadu Buhari, on the death of former President of the Republic of Nigeria, H.E. Alhaji Shehu Shagari.
The President of the Republic expressed, on behalf of the Sahrawi people and on his own behalf, the deep sorrow and sadness at the death of former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, H.E. Alhaji Shehu Shagari.

Brahim Gali: Year 2018, rich in achievements due to Western Sahara people's resistance

Boujdour, (Saharawi Refugee Camps), Dec 27, 2018 (SPS)- The president of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Brahim Gali, said the year 2018 has been rich in victories and achievements due to the resistance of Western Sahara people, adding that the battle will continue until the establishment of Saharawi State sovereignty over all the Saharawi territories.

Balearic Islands, Spain: Sit-in in solidarity with Sahrawi political prisoners

Balearic Islands (Spain), Dec 27 2018 (SPS) -the Frente POLISARIO representative in the Balearic Islands held on Wednesday a sit-in in solidarity with all Saharawi political prisoners in Moroccan prisons.
During the said sit-in, which was held in coordination with the Solidarity Association in the Balearic Islands, Sahrawi national flags were raised along with banners in the main square as an expression of solidarity with all Saharawi detainees, calling for their unconditionally release.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs organizes a conference on human rights

Sahrawi political prisoners subjected to ill-treatment, medical negligence

Bouzakarn (Morocco) December 24, 2018 (SPS) - Sahrawi political prisoner of the Gdeim Izik group, Mohamed Andelah Amebito Tahlil, who is in the local prison of Bouzakarn in southern Morocco, has been subjected to cruel and degrading treatment after the prison administration put him in solitary confinement on December 3rd.

New Zealand: Friends of Sahrawi people demonstrate against arrival of shipment carrying Sahrawi phosphate

Dunedin (New Zealand) Dec 20, 2018 (SPS) - Friends of the Sahrawi people in New Zealand organized a demonstration to denounce the arrival of a shipment loaded with Sahrawi phosphate bound for the city of Dunedin in southern New Zealand, calling for stopping this "theft and crime".
The demonstrators gathered in front of the ship that arrived at the port earlier this week, and chanted slogans against the looting of Sahrawi wealth, brandishing placards on which sentences like "stop the flight" and "we took you in flagrante delicto" were written.

President Brahim Gali receives letter of thanks from his Angolan counterpart

Angolan President João Lourenço conveyed his thanks for the congratulations and the signs of brotherhood and solidarity.

Saharawi official reveals sufferings of Saharawi students in Moroccan universities

Paris (Algiers) Dec 19, 2018 (SPS) - A Saharawi Youth Union activist has stressed, in Paris, the seriousness of the situation of Saharawi students in Moroccan universities, in violations of the international rules and charters. 
Hamdi Omar, who is in charge of foreign relations at the Saharawi Youth Union, made the statement in a series of meetings on the sidelines of the International Festival of Solidarity.  

Political prisoner and Saharawi journalist, Salah Lebsir, transferred to Bouzakarn prison

Aaiún occupied, Dec 19, 2018 (SPS) - The political activist and journalist, Salah Eddine Lebsir, was transferred, on Tuesday, from the Tata prison to the Bouzakarn prison.
Salah Lebsir was arrested on June 6, 2015 after participating in peaceful demonstrations in the city of Smara, demanding the right to self-determination of the Saharawi people, he was sentenced to four years ending his sentence in June 2019.

Australia Western Sahara Association hopes Geneva round table will continue to achieve a just and lasting solution to the conflict

Sydney (Australia), Dec 18, 2018 (SPS) - The Australia Western Sahara Association expressed their satisfaction at the round of negotiations held in Geneva between the Frente POLISARIO and Morocco, under the auspices of the UN, to achieve a solution of the conflict in Western Sahara that provide for the right of self-determination to the Saharawi people.
The said australian association took stock of their activities carried out during the past year and electing a new leadership this time, in addition to preparing a work agenda for next year.

Protest in New Zealand against conflict mineral imports (WSRW)

A local environmental organisation in Dunedin, New Zealand, this week-end protested the arrival of a bulk vessel entering the port, loaded with phosphate rock from cocupied Western Sahara.
In the background of the photos, one can spot the vessel 'Triton Valk', just having arrived the port. The importer of the cargo is the fertilizer company Ravensdown.
