Sahrawi president holds talks with Horst Kohler

Shaheed El-Hafed (refugee camps), Oct 20, 2017 (SPS) - Sahrawi President and Polisario Front's Secretary General Brahim Ghali on Thursday has held talks with the United Nations Secretary General's Personal Envoy for Western Sahara Horst Kohler.
The one-to-one discussions took place at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in Shaheed El-Hafed camp.

Chahid El Hafed, Oct 19,2017 (SPS) - The Personal Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Western Sahara, Horst Köhler, has held a meeting with members of Saharawi civil society at the headquarters of the Association of Relatives of Saharawi Prisoners and Disappeared Persons (AFAPRADESA).

Wilaya of Auserd, 18/10/2017 (SPS) - The Personal Envoy of the Secretary General of the United Nations for Western Sahara, Horst Köhler, said in an intervention at his reception in Auserd, that he will listen carefully to create a vision that help understand the Saharawi question.
 
Horst Köhler, said that he appreciated the popular reception of the wilaya of Auserd and conveyed the greetings of the Secretary General of the United Nations, while affirming that he will spare no effort to resolve the Saharawi question.

Bojador (Sahrawi refugee camps) Oct 19, 2017 (SPS) -  The representative of the Frente POLISARIO to the United Nations Ahmed Bujari reaffirmed Tuesday, in Bojador (Sahrawi refugee camps), the participation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in the 5th African Union-European Union Summit, scheduled on 29-30 November in Abidjan (Ivory Coast), in the same way as all AU’s member States.
 

Horst Köhler Visit: Consultative Council calls on UN to end Saharawi people suffering

Wilaya de Auserd, Oct 18,2017 (SPS) - The Consultative Council, on Wednesday, called on the international community to end the suffering of the Saharawi people, which lasted more than four decades.
The Saharawi Consultative Council Vice-President, Abba Mohamed Moulud Abbali, said in an address on behalf of his organ, on the occasion of the arrival of the Personal Envoy to the camps, that the Saharawi people collaborated positively with all successive special envoys despite absence of a just solution to the Saharawi question.

Wilaya of Auserd, Oct 18, 2017 (SPS) - The messes of the Wilaya of Auserd have received on Wednesday the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Western Sahara, Horst Koehler, who arrived in the camps on the second leg of his first visit to the region, in the framework of his first tour to revival negotiations between the two parties to reach a solution that guarantees the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination.

WFDY19 Festival: participants ask for a quick solution to the Saharawi question

Sochi (Russia),Oct 18, 2017 (SPS) - Participants at the 19th World Youth Festival demanded a quick solution from the international community to the Sahrawi conflict that has been unresolved for decades.
During the third day of the Festival, dedicated to the African continent, where subjects related to sustainable development, education, colonialism, etc., the participants agreed that the Saharawi issue needs an urgent solution, to put an end to the suffering of the Saharawi people, who have been suffering dispersal and war for more than four decades.

Chahid El Hafed, Oct 18, 2017 (SPS) - The representative of the Frente POLISARIO to the United Nations, Bujari Ahmed, stated that the Saharawi leadership will take advantage of the visit of the Special Envoy for the Western Sahara, Mr. Horst Kohler, to exchange views on the peace process that is blocked by Moroccan obstructions.
 
The Sahrawi diplomat told the Saharawi National Radio that "it is positive that the new envoy comes from Germany, a very active and influential country in international politics ".
 

AU-EU Summit: AU Executive Council reaffirms right of all Members States to participate in AU meetings

Addis Ababa(Ethiopia), Oct 17, 2017 (SPS) -  The African Union Executive Council reaffirmed, Monday during an extraordinary session, the right of all AU member states to participate in the 5th AU-European Union Summit, due to be held in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire on 29 and 30 November 2017.
The participants in the extraordinary session adopted a resolution reaffirming the need to fully respect the AU's decisions, particularly the decision 942 of the 31st ordinary session of AU Executive Council in July 2017.

Western Sahara decolonization to be debated in Paris

Extraordinary Session of AU Executive Council launches in presence of Sahrawi Republic

Addis Ababa, 16 Oct 2017 (SPS) The Extraordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU) on the  African Union-European Union Summit to be held in Abidjan on November 29-30, was launched Monday in Addis Ababa, in the presence of a delegation of the Saharawi Republic led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed-Salem Ould-Salek.
The session was opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guinea, in his capacity as president of the Executive Council, as well as the president of the AU Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat.
