10/11/2007 (SPS) POLISARIO Front reaffirmed, on Friday, that the
Saharawi people will accept no solution that does not include
its right to self-determination or does not approach the
conflict as a problem of decolonisation, after an extraordinary
session held on Thursday under the presidency of the Head of the
Saharawi State, Mohamed Abdelaziz.
In a press release that concluded the works of the extraordinary
session of POLISARIO Front’s National Secretariat (NS), of which
SPS received a copy, POLISARIO underlined that "the Saharawi
people will never accept a solution that does not approach the
conflict as a decolonisation problem with the necessity of
enabling the Saharawis to exercise their right to
self-determination and independence".
Concerning the situation "at the national internal level", The
NS hailed the "resistance of the Saharawi people in exile and in
the liberated territories, as well as the resistance of the
fighters of the Saharawi Army of liberation in the front lines".
The press release also hailed the Saharawi fighters "readiness
to resume the struggle for the achievement of the liberation of
the occupied zone of the Saharawi territory".
On this occasion, the NS addressed an appeal to the Saharawi
people to "tighten up the ranks so as to strengthen the national
unity under the leadership of POLISARIO Front, to diversify the
forms of national activism, to support the peaceful and
courageous resistance realised by the Intifada for the
independence and realise the conditions for the success of
POLISARIO Front’s 12th Congress, making of it a stage
of decisive struggle in the national battle for freedom, dignity
and independence".
With regards to the situation in the occupied zones and the
Moroccan universities, the highest political body of the
Saharawi legitimate representative, "hailed the struggle led by
the children of the Intifada of Independence", expressing "the
admiration of the Saharawi people for great sacrifices of the
children of the Intifada".
It further expressed its "satisfaction about the success of the
33rd Conference of solidarity with the Saharawi people held
between the 18 and 20 October in Rome (Italy), which gathered
hundreds supporters and sympathisers with the Saharawi struggle
from all continents ".
The NS also paid tribute to the Spanish judge Baltsar Garzon for
the "legal suit engaged against the Moroccan officials who
committed crimes against humanity towards the Saharawi citizens
since the Moroccan military invasion in Western Sahara in
October 31st 1975".
