Bir Lahlou (liberated territories), 11/04/2007 (SPS) The
President of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic, Secretary
General of Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, declared that his
organisation has presented to the UN a proposition of solution on
Tuesday.
In a statement, of which SPS received a copy, the Saharawi President
underlined that "Polisario Front has presented to the UN a
proposition of solution, with a view to contribute in the settlement
of the conflict that opposes Morocco to the Saharawi people for more
than 30 years, and aiming to realise a just and lasting peace in our
region".
According to Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, it is "a flexible and
constructive project" that guarantee the national rights of the
Saharawi people conforming to the resolutions of the UN’s General
Assembly and Security Council, which demand the exercise by the
Saharawi people of "its right to self-determination through a
self-determination referendum".
"It is a project that is open to cooperation and good relations f
neighbourhood with the kingdom of Morocco and the neighbouring
countries", the Saharawi President concluded in his statement. (SPS)
