Brussels,
31/03/2007 (SPS) The Saharawi Coordinator with the Mission of the
United Nations for Western Sahara (Minurso), M’hamed khadad, met on
Friday in Brussels with high officials in the Belgian Ministry for
Foreign Affairs, reported the Saharawi representation in Brussels.
The discussions tackled the last developments of the
Morocco-Saharawi conflict and the future report of the UN Secretary
General to the Security Council in the mid April.
In this respect, Mr. Khadad underlined "the dangers for the regional
stability that may be cause by the Moroccan stubbornness, manoeuvres
and refusal to cooperate in the respect of the international
legality", adding that "the policy aiming to surmount the will of
the Saharawi people can not succeed".
He also drew the attention of his interlocutors on the situation of
the current resistance in the Saharawi occupied territories, three
decades after the beginning of the Moroccan aggression, which is the
obvious expression of the Saharawi people’s rejection of the
Moroccan colonial fait accompli.
Accompanied by Polisario Front’s representative in Belgium, Bulahi
Mohamed Fadel, Mr. Khadad also met with personalities of the
movement of solidarity with the Saharawi people, including Senator
Pierre Galand, with whom he discussed the results of the contacts
undertook by the Saharawi authorities to raise the awareness of the
members of the Security Council before their next meeting on the
question of the Western Sahara. (SPS)
