Algiers,
21/03/2007 (SPS) The Saharawi Prime Minister, Abdelkader Taleb Omar,
expressed his happiness with the support of the civil society in
Algeria, indicating that it was always backing the Saharawi people,
reported the Algerian press agency, APS.
Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar, who met with the President of the
Algerian National Committee of solidarity with the Saharawi people (CNASPS),
Mr. Mahrez Lamari at the seat of APC, in Algiers Centre, the city
twined with the camp of El-Aaiun, thanked the Algerian society for
the "ties of brotherhood and good neighbourhood that link the two
peoples".
Expressing his "satisfaction" with the position of the Spanish civil
society and political parties, especially the "statement of the king
of Spain in Algiers" regarding the "Saharawi people’s right to
self-determination", Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar hoped that "the
Spanish government respects the resolution adopted by the Spanish
parliament in favour of the Saharawi people".
On his side, Mr. Lamari indicated that "through the CNASPS, composed
of representatives of the civil society, parliamentarians and local
elected, we call for the implementation of the international
legality and UN’s resolutions that consecrated the Saharawi people’s
right to self-determination".
He underlined that "this encounter, which intervenes in the eve of
the UN Security Council meeting, aims to reaffirm our support and
solidarity to the Saharawi Republic and to the Saharawi people". (SPS)
