Chahid El Hafed, 15/03/2007 (SPS) The Committee against
Torture in Dakhla and the local Committee of the ASVDH in Boujdour
asked, on Thursday, for the "opening of an investigation on the
events of Dakhla, which caused at least 33 wounded persons and four
arrestees" among the Saharawi citizens, who were peacefully
demonstrating to demand their people’s right to self-determination.
The two NGOS condemned this "aggressive behaviour and repressive
practices that characterised the intervention of the Moroccan
colonial forces on Sunday evening against the Saharawi human rights
activists, in the city of Dakhla", the two NGOs underlined in a
press release published on Thursday.
They further asked for the release of the Saharawi political
prisoners and the return of the Saharawi human rights activists, El
Mami Amar Salem and Mohamed Moustapha Ehl Tekrour, recently expulsed
abusively by the Moroccan colonial forces to Mauritania.
