Dakhla (occupied territories), 13/03/2007 (SPS) 33 Saharawi
citizens at least were wounded during confrontations that took place
on Sunday evening between the Saharawi population in the occupied
city of Dakhla and the Moroccan forces of occupation that were
brutally dispersing peaceful demonstrations claiming the "immediate"
withdrawal of the Moroccan occupation from the Western Sahara.
The forces of occupation savagely intervened to disperse the
demonstrators, wounding 33 Saharawi citizens at least, including two
human rights activists, according to the first information by the
Saharawi Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities.
The victims are: Saleh Mohamed Lamine Beray and Hassena El Ouali
(Saharawi human rights activists), Beloussi Ahmed Zein, Chahira
Ahmed Salem, Houda Ahmed Salem, Cheinena Oumar Bel-la, Amma Hamadi,
Khouta Ndegsaad, Ahmed Fall Ahmed, Khatta Ahmed, Bel-la Ahmed Salem,
Ahmed Baba Bouchraya, Chiaa Bouaila, Ouayahi Bouaila, Sidati Chein,
Nouna Bekar, Chebla Ahmed Brahim, Mrabih El Ouali, Atikou Beray,
Soukeina Mokhtar, Chaia Ahmed Baba, Moulaye Ahmed Khatri, Othmane
Mokhtar, Hayat Mokhtar, Ghalia Ahmed Moussa, Jamila Mohamed Lamine,
Aliyen Bouchraya Ali Salem, Fatimetou Bouchraya Ali Salem, Mohamed
Bouchraya Ali Salem, Zeini Beray, Mohamed Boubakar, Cheikh Benan and
Bel-la Bouaila.
The demonstrators organised a sit-in in front of the hospital of the
occupied city, asking for the right to visit the Saharawi
youngsters, Sidi Hamdi Mayif, Chiaa Boujemaa, Mamadou Chein and
Ahmed Baba Ali Salem, who were arrested and tortured on Sunday
evening by the Moroccan police, the same source indicated.
The Moroccan forces of repression had before arrested 4 Saharawi
youngsters for having "chanted slogans asking for the
self-determination of the Saharawi people and distributed leaflets
denouncing the Moroccan human rights violations in the Western
Sahara", during "a cultural festival" organised in this occupied
city by the Moroccan colonial authorities, it should be recalled.
The four arrestees are: Sidi Hamdi Mayif, Chiaa Boujemaa, Mamadou
Chein and Ahmed Baba Ali Salem, who were arrested and tortured on
Sunday evening by the Moroccan police, while three of them were
transported in coma to the hospital of the city.
The city of Dakhla is now completely put under siege by the
different corpses of repression, the same source concluded. (SPS)
