Tifariti (liberated territories), 27/02/2007 (SPS) The Algerian
Ministry of Moudjahidines, Mohamed Cherif Abbass, affirmed on
Tuesday in Tifariti, that "Algeria is with the international
community which does not recognise and will never accept the current
attempts aiming to consecrate an unilateral vision and an approach
far from the law and on the account of the international legality"
for the resolution of the conflict of the Western Sahara.
Mr. Abbass, who was participating to the event accompanied with the
Minister delegated for Foreign Affairs in charge of Africa and the
Maghreb, Abdelkader Messahel and Mr. Abdalla Baali, Algerian
Ambassador, said that the "validity of the Baker Plan is evident
knowing that this plan is now the only juridical framework accepted
and adopted by the international community".
In this respect, Algeria considers that "the repeated statements
presenting so-called solutions" aiming to "denature the question of
the Western Sahara from its natural framework of decolonisation",
are merely "manoeuvres opposing the fundamental bases decided by the
Baker Plan and especially the inalienable right of the Saharawi
people to self-determination" and that they are rejected and vouched
to failure".
"Algeria will continue to fully support the Saharawi people until it
exercise its inalienable right to self-determination, recognised and
consecrated by the international community", he stressed. (SPS)
