Tifariti (liberated territories), 25/02/2007 (SPS) An international
conference of solidarity with the Saharawi people will be organised
Monday in Tifariti, in the occupied territories of the Western
Sahara, with the presence of more than 800 delegates who came to
express their support and solidarity with the struggle of the
Saharawi people for their right to self-determination and
independence.
The conference, the first of its kin in the liberated territories,
"is organised in the zones where the Saharawi Republic exercises its
sovereignty to show that the Saharawi Republic is an irreversible
reality", the organisers indicated.
"It is also for this purpose that it was meant to coincide with the
31st anniversary of the proclamation of the Saharawi
Republic, the 27 of February", the same source indicated.
The Saharawi Prime Minister stressed that "through this highly
symbolical act that is taking place in the liberated territories of
the Saharawi Republic, we want to give a proof that there is a
people here, a liberated territory and a government that materialise
the very essence of the State in addition to the wide international
support to this State" the same source added.
It will also be an opportunity to show that the Saharawi struggle
"does not take place only from exile, but also from the liberated
territories and the occupied zones through the peaceful intifada
that is taking place since May 2005", he stressed. (SPS)
