London, 23/02/2007 (SPS) Te British Minister of State for
Foreign Affaires, Kim Howells, affirmed in a press release that his
country supports the UN’s efforts for a settlement of the question
of the Western Sahara within the framework of the United Nations.
This statement was declared after a meeting he had with a Moroccan
ministerial delegation chaired by the Minister of Interior, Mr.
Chakib Ben Moussa, and which also included the Moroccan Secretary of
State for Foreign Affairs, Fouad Ali El Hima.
The Moroccan delegation undertook a turn in the embers States in the
UN Security Council to campaign Rabat’s unilateral autonomy project,
which was categorically rejected by the POLISARIO Front.
The United Kingdom "shares the concern of the international
community regarding the imperative settlement of the Western Sahara
conflict" and "will continue supporting the UN’s efforts for a
political settlement", the press release of the UK foreign Affairs
