London,
17/02/2007 (SPS) The photos exposition, "Visions of the last colony
in Africa", organised following the initiative of the British NGO
“Sandblast” and which was officially closed on Friday, has attracted
a real attention of visitors who were seized by the themes exposed
about the sufferings of the Saharawi people, especially after they
were able to watch the film "Western Sahara: the forgotten war"
realised by the BBC second Channel.
The film was projected in the end of the exposition with the
presence of the Saharawi human rights activist, Ali Salem Tamek, who
is undertaking a visit to the UK following an invitation form the
British Parliamentarians.
The Saharawi human rights activist seized the opportunity to present
to the audience an exposition about the human rights violations
committed by the Moroccan State against the Saharawi citizens, who
are only asking for their right to self-determination.
The exposition, which opened last February the 02nd in the Host
Gallery in London, presented photos on the Saharawi people’s daily
life in the refugee camps and their struggle to build their State
and institutions despite of the hardships of exile. (SPS)
