Paris,

(SPS) The Committee for the Respect of the Freedoms and Human Rights
in the Western Sahara (CORELSO), a French-Saharawi association based
in Paris, reiterated its determination to pursue the struggle until
the realisation of the Saharawi people’s right to
self-determination.
The CORELSO, which presented the results of its activities in
support of the Saharawi cause, recalled that "since it started last
May 2005, "the Intifada" of the Saharawi people in the occupied
territories is violently repressed by the Moroccan forces of
occupation. Many Saharawi human rights activist are still
detained".
"This repression and the Moroccan persisting refusal to accept the
self-determination referendum pushed some human rights activists and
supporters of the Saharawi cause to create the CORELSO in
December 23rd 2005",
underlines the representatives of the association, which is
co-chaired by the journalist Mrs. Aline Pailler, ex-European
Parliamentarian and the Saharawiuman rights activist, Mr. Ennama
Asfari. (SPS)
