The Government of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and
Polisario Front "did not have meetings with Morocco… and the project
of Rabat is nothing", declared today an authorised source from the
Saharawi Ministry of Information in reaction to an information
published by the Moroccan newspaper, Assabah, in its Thursday’s
edition.
In a new campaign of Moroccan propaganda and lies, which became
typical of all the Moroccan means of communication close to the
Makhzen, the mentioned Moroccan newspaper pretended that a "very
important" Saharawi official had had "a meeting of more than two
hours" with officials of the Moroccan colonial regime to discuss the
latter’s autonomy project. "The Saharawi Republic and the Polisario
Front categorically deny and affirm that they had no meeting,
nowhere in the world, with representatives of Morocco to discuss
about whatsoever", the same source declared.
"Morocco is certainly in feverous need for support in its new
rushing ahead, but the Saharawi people rejects and will face the
current Moroccan colonial manoeuvre", the representative of the
Saharawi Ministry of information underlined in a written statement
of which SPS received a copy.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Salek,
affirmed on Monday during a press conference held in the Embassy of
the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic in Algiers, that the Moroccan
"unilateral and void" autonomy plan for the Western Sahara is "a
volt-face that threatens the stability of the region", stressing
that any solution "that does not respect the Saharawi people’s right
to self-determination and independence is unacceptable and
irrational".
