Brussels,
29/01/2007 (SPS) The European Commissioner for External Relations,
Mrs. Benita Ferrero-Walder, warned the Moroccan Government, Tuesday
in Brussels, urging it to "avoid any kind of criticism, justified or
not, related to the respect of the human rights in the Western
Sahara", press agencies reported.
Mrs. Ferrero-Walder, who was speaking before the European
Parliament’s Commission for External Relations, stressed that
Brussels "will follow from very close" the implementation by Morocco
of the UN’s resolutions in the e-Spanish colony, admitting that
"there was no progress to this date".
On another hand, the American organisation, Human Right Watch (HRW),
has denounced, in its 2006’s report, systematic human rights
violations in the Western Sahara perpetrated by the Moroccan
Government as well as the security Black-out imposed on the
territory, it should be recalled. (SPS)
