Smara (occupied territories),
07/01/2007 (SPS) Dozens Saharawi citizens in the occupied city of
Smara demonstrated on Saturday to denounce the arrest of the human
rights activist, Asfari Ennaama, on Friday by the Moroccan police
upon his return from France in company of his wife and
parents-in-law, reported a source close to the Saharawi Ministry of
Occupied Territories and communities.
The demonstrators raised the flags of the Saharawi Republic and
chanted slogans advocating the Saharawi people’s right to
self-determination and independence.
The forces of repression intervened savagely to disperse the
demonstrators and seriously wounded a Saharawi woman at least,
mainly Miss, Metou Lakhdar, the same source added.
On another hand, two Saharawi ex-political prisoners, Othman Tanakha
and Dedi Hmada were arrested on Friday upon their entry to the
occupied city of Smara.
The two victims were tortured inside the car of the Moroccan forces
of intervention before they were abandoned in the "Lekoueïz" a
region east Smara in a very pitiful state, indicated sources close
to the families of the two men.
Meantime in the occupied city of El Aaiun the Moroccan forces of
repression ransacked of a Saharawi family arresting five Saharawi
youths and led them to the seat of the Moroccan criminal police in
the occupied city of El Aaiun.
The Saharawi youth: Messoud Boushab Laroussi, Mohamed Barka Bembara,
Faraji Othman Driss Deich, Ahmed Baba Abdelaziz Mohamed and Ali
Salem Boujemaa Saadani, who were submitted to the different forms of
torture and interrogations, according to sources close to their
