Chahid El Hafed, 05/01/2007 (SPS) The President of the
Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz, received, on Friday at the presidency,
delegations from Senegal, Brazil and Italy after the end of their
visit to the Saharawi refugee camps and SADR’s institutions.
The Senegali delegation is chaired by the First Secretary General of
the Socialist Party, the main opposition party, Ousmane Tanor Dieng,
the candidate to the next presidential elections.
"Senegal is an important country in our region with which we would
like to build excellent relations for the interests of the two
brother peoples and the benefit of the region", the President of the
Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz, underlined during the reception
attended by many members of the National Secretariat, Government,
Parliament and Consultative Council.
Addressing the Brazilian Parliamentarian delegation, chaired by the
Parliamentarian Maninha, the Head of the Saharawi State underlined
"the sacrifice paid during the long trip and the big distances
crossed despites of the many preoccupations and the Christmas". He
expressed his thanks to his guest for having "adopted the just cause
of the Saharawi people and the defence in all forums in Brazil, in
Latino America and around the world".
Mr. Abdelaziz expressed his high esteem for the President of the
Association of Friendship of Solidarity with the Saharawi people in
Italy, Luciano Ardesi, for the important role he plays in his
country "within the Italian movement of solidarity", which is
preparing this year to hold the annual international conference of
support to the Saharawi people (EUCOCO).
"Let’s work together to convince the Moroccan Government to
reconsider its intransigence, which price is paid by the peoples of
the region. Let’s work together to enable the Saharawi people, like
all the peoples of the world, to freely chose their future through a
free, just and transparent referendum. Let’s work together to
protect the Saharawi in the occupied territories from the savage and
continued repression and Let’s work together to support the Saharawi
refugees against the hidden practices aiming to use the humanitarian
aids as a political card to put pressures", the Head of the State
said addressing his guests.
"The Saharawi people, which is determined now more than ever to
defend its legitimate rights to freedom and independence, is
confident in such loyal friends as yourselves, who are so strongly
convinced of its principles and its human values", the Head of the
Saharawi State said. (SPS)
