Goulimine (south of Morocco),
04/01/2007 (SPS) Saharawi students in Goulimine organised on Tuesday
a sit-in of solidarity with the Intifada, affirming their
determination to continue the struggle until the self-determination
of the Saharawi people, writes a press release issued by the
students, of which SPS received a copy.
The Saharawi students also called on the Moroccan authorities to
respect the agreements they reach with them, enabling them guarantee
their right to scholarships, transportation, residence, and the
right to access the high schools (High Studies), the press release
added.
In the sit-in, the Saharawi students chanted slogans in favour of
the independence of the Western Sahara and called for the "immediate
and unconditional liberation of the Saharawi political prisoners
still in Moroccan prisons, as well as the immediate withdrawal of
the Moroccan occupation from the Saharawi territory", the text
further stressed.
The Moroccan forces of repression, backed by auxiliary forces,
forces of intervention and police, intervened with excessive use of
violence to disperse the peaceful demonstrators.
On another hand, the Saharawi students in Goulmine denounced the
release of the Moroccan gendarme, Hassan Oheira, who was set free by
the Moroccan colonial court of Agadir in the beginning of December
despite the fact that he was previously sentenced 10 years
imprisonment, in 2004, for having killed Saharawi citizen, Sleiman
Choueihi, under torture, it should be recalled. (SPS)
