London,
23/12/2006 (SPS) The Moroccan authorities "do not allow
international observers and Medias into the occupied territories of
the Western Sahara so as to hide the savage repression against the
Saharawi people, who are uprising against the occupation", declared
Mr. Ali Salem Tamek, Saharawi human rights activist and ex-political
prisoner.
According to a press release issued by the Polisario Front’s
representation in the UK and Ireland, the Saharawi human rights
militant presented, last Wednesday before the Irish Parliament, a
lecture about the grave situation to which the Saharawi population
is subjected in the occupied territories of the Western Sahara.
The Moroccan authorities "do not allow the visits of international
observers and Medias, including the European Parliamentarians, into
the occupied territories of the Western Sahara, what reveals the
plans of the Moroccan authorities who aim to continue the savage
repression by hiding the gross crimes committed against the sons of
the Saharawi people", the Saharawi activist said. (SPS)
