M’hamid El Ghezlan (South of Morocco),
21/12/2006 (SPS) Three Saharawi citizens were injured during
confrontations, on Wednesday in M’hamid El Ghezlan (Morocco),
between Moroccan police and Saharawis, who are undertaking a sit-in
for the last six months in front of the administrative buildings of
the city claiming for employment and for the respect of human
rights.
The forces of police and gendarmerie "intervened brutally to ransack
the tents", built by the demonstrators since the beginning of the
sit-in six months ago, a close source to the Ministry of Occupied
Territories and Communities indicated.
This "violent" intervention caused three injured victims at least,
Laroussi Smail, Loud Fatimetou, Bachir Abba Ali and his Mother and
Sadiki Lalla Fatma as well as others still not identified, the same
source added.
