Zimbabwe reiterates solidarity with Saharawi people struggle

Harare, May 26, 2015 (SPS) - Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe has renewed his country’s support and solidarity with the struggle of the Saharawi people for freedom and independence, in a statement delivered on his own behalf by FM Simbarashe Mumbengegwi in a ceremony hosted Monday by Zimbabwe Foreign Ministry to mark the 52nd anniversary of Africa Day.

King Mohammed VI’s visit to Senegal ends up in failure

Dakar, May 26, 2015 (SPS) - The visit of Moroccan King, Mohammed VI, to Senegal was marked by two incidents that tarnished the image Moroccan government wanted to promote with regard to the relationship between the two countries.

In addition to the judicial follow-up against Karim Wade, Moroccan King’s close friend and the son of Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade, two altercations occurred between the personal guards of the Moroccan King and those of Senegalese President Macky Sall.

UN Committee of 24 calls for decolonization of Western Sahara

 Managua (Nicaragua), May 25, 2015 (SPS) - The participants in the regional Conference of the UN Special Committee on Decolonization (the Committee of 24,) held recently in Managua, Nicaragua, has renewed called for the completion of the decolonization process in Western Sahara through the organization of a free and transparent referendum allowing the people of Western Sahara to exercise freely their right to self-determination.
 

CODESA expresses support for Sahrawi mother Takbar Haddi on hunger strike in Canary Islands

 El Aaiun (Occupied Territories), May 24, 2015 (SPS) The Executive Office of the Collective of Sahrawi Human Rights Defenders (CODESA) expressed Sunday support and solidarity with the Saharawi mother Takbar Haddi on hunger strike for two weeks in the canary islands to demand justice for her son who was killed in February by Moroccan settlers in the occupied city of El Aaiun.

SADR takes part in African Conference for dialogue on human rights and justice mechanisms

 
 Arusha (Tanzania) 23 May, 2015 (SPS) – The Sahrawi Republic participated in the works of African Dialogue Conference on human rights and justice mechanisms, held May 18-22, in  Arusha, Tanzanian.
 
 The Conference was organized by the African Institute for International Law in cooperation with the African Court for Human and Peoples Rights, and aimed at promoting dialogue to ensure the protection of human and peoples' rights in Africa.
 

President of Republic offers condolences to family of French lawyer Francis Jacob

 
Bir Lahlou (Liberated Zones), May 23, 2015 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary General, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, sent a letter of condolence to the family of the honorary president of the Association of Friends of the Saharawi people in France, Mr. Francis Jacob, who died recently in French capital Paris.
 

President of Republic congratulates President of Guyana on his election

 
Bir Lehlou, May 23, 2015 (SPS) – President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, has congratulated the President of the Republic of Guyana, His Excellency David Arthur Granger, on his election, in a letter SPS received a copy of it Saturday.
