CTA asks government to vote in favour of expanding MINURSO mandate for human rights monitoring

Buenos Aires, April 23, 2014 (SPS) - The Argentine Workers’ Central Union (Spanish acronym; CTA) has urged the government of its country to vote in favour of expanding the mandate of the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) to include human rights monitoring in the occupied Saharawi territories.

U.S. ONG voices “continuing support” to Saharawi people’s struggle

RFK Centre condemns Morocco's violent repression against Saharawis in El Aaiun

Washignton (United States) , April 20, 2014 (SPS) - The president of the American nongovernmental organization “Robert F. Kennedy for Justice and Human Rights” (RFKennedy Centre), Kerry Kennedy, condemned Friday the violent repression perpetrated Tuesday by the Moroccan forces in El Aaiun against the Saharawis’ peaceful protest for independence, leaving tens of protestors injured.
 

President of Republic condemns visit of King of Morocco to occupied city of Dakhla

Birlehlu, April 19, 2014 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front Mohamed Abdelaziz  expressed the condemnation of the Polisario Front and its rejection to the visit of the King of Morocco to the occupied city of Dakhla, considering it as an act of aggression, in a letter Saturday to the UN Secretary General, Mr. Ban Ki- Moon.
 

International delegations prevented from taking part in Sahrawi women conference in occupied city of El Aaiun

El Aaiun (Occupied Territories), April 19, 2014 (SPS) -  The Moroccan authorities prevented Spanish delegations from taking part in a Sahrawi women conference on Thursday  in the occupied city of El Aaiun, representing Various social and political organizations, indicated a letter sent to the UN Security Council signed by some of these organizations.  

 

UN Security Council holds consultations on situation in Western Sahara

New York (United Nations) April 19, 2014 (SPS) -  The UN Security Council held on Thursday consultations on the question of  Western Sahara and its developments in the light of the report of the Secretary-General of the United Nations submitted April 10.
 
It has been decided to introduce a motion on April 23, regarding the Sahrawi issue, particularly the renewal of the mandate of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in the Western Sahara (MINURSO), respect for human rights and protection of natural resources in Western Sahara.
