Saharawi Government: The closure of the Moroccan Embassy in Caracas is a "punitive measure" for Venezuela's position in favour of Palestine

Bir Lehlu (liberated territories) 16/01/2009 (SPS) The Ministry of Information of the SADR considered Friday the closure by Morocco of its embassy in Caracas, "a punitive measure" against Venezuela because of its position of the offensive launched by Israel against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip, in a press release received by SPS.

This "shameful" decision by the Moroccan Government, as a punitive measure against Venezuela after the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador in the wake of the aggression against Palestinian people in Gaza and for its support to the struggles of the two peoples, Palestine and Western Sahara, for their right to self-determination and independence," the text added.

"The Moroccan government, through its aggression and genocide against the people of Western Sahara since 1975, challenges the human conscience and international legitimacy, and finds in Israel's aggression in Gaza, an excuse of what it commits in Western Sahara ", the same source deplored.

"The Sahrawi people and its government, seize this opportunity to convey to the Venezuelan people and His Excellency the President, Hugo Chavez, their appreciation and deep respect for the firm positions of Venezuela which call for allowing peoples of Western Sahara and Palestine to exercise their right to self-determination and independence," the press release concluded.
