Polisario Front urges Navanethem Pillay to immediate intervene to protect Saharawi defenceless in occupied Dakhla

Geneva, September 28, 2011 (SPS) - The Polisario Front has urged Tuesday the UN high commissioner for human rights, Navanethem (Navi) Pillay, to immediately  intervene to save the life of helpless Sahrawi civilians  in the occupied city of Dakhla, those suffer a gross violations perpetrated by Rabat's regime.

Presidency of Republic declares Sept 29 day of national mourning in memory of martyr, Maichan Lahbib

Shaheed El Hafed, September 28, 2011 (SPS) - The President of the Republic has declared  September 29, 2011, a day of national  mourning in memory of young Sahrawi, Mohamed Lamin Meichan Lahbib, assasinated by Moroccan settlers in ccupied Dakhla.
 
"The flags will be run at half-mast, a moment of silence and the reading of Fatiha will be observed in all SADR institutions,  liberated territories , refugee camps  as well as at embassies and  representations of Polisario Front , "said a statement of the Presidency.

AU should act proactively to ensure that UN assumes its responsibility in Western Sahara, says President

Bir Lahlou, Sept 28, 2011 (SPS) -The President of the Republic and the Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, appealed Tuesday the African Union to act proactively to ensure that the UN assumes its responsibility in decolonising the last colony in Africa.

Assassination of a young Saharawi in occupied city of Dakhla

Dakhla (occupied territories), September26,2011 (SPS) .- Sources in the occupied city of Dakhla have confirmed the killing of young Saharawi ,Maichan Mohamed Lamin Lehbib,(aged 29)a result of crucial  attacks by Moroccan settlers supported  by Moroccan security forces against Sahrawi citizens.
 Human Rights Defenders from Dakhla confirmed that many saharawis were injured and arrested while three have taken to the hospital, "one of them in serious condition."

At least eight people injured and two others arrested in the occupied city of Dakhla

Dakhla (occupied territories), September 26, 2011 (SPS) At least eight people were injured in clashes that took place Sunday night at the occupied city of Dakhla, following a peaceful demonstration calling for the immediate withdrawal of the Moroccan occupation and independence of Western Sahara, said a Sahrawi judicial source there.
According to a first assessment, the Moroccan occupying forces brutally intervened to disperse the demonstrators, causing several injuries, most of which are classified as "serious," added the source.
